Word count: 1400
Here is a quick post to let you all know that I will be camping out with the other Wrimo’s in Camp NaNoWriMo this month of April!
Grouped together in cabins, we will each be working on a writing assignment of our own. While NaNoWriMo (National Novel Writing Month, for those who do not know it) is all about reaching 50.000 words, Camp NaNoWriMo is a little more relaxed. All participants can set their own writing goal or rebel, if they like.
I am writing a mere 20k words on a new novel entitled Six this April, because I am also editing a third draft of The Grand Asylum. Today is day 3 of Camp, so when I get home from work I will first set myself down and write 700 words and edit 5 pages before I do anything else. Discipline is the key! There will be another Camp NaNoWriMo in July, so I intend to finish Six then.
My first experience with National Novel Writing Month was last november during NaNo 2012. I was very proud to make 50k and continued writing through December, until I finished the first version of my novel on Boxing Day. That novel is The Grand Asylum! My experience with NaNo was absolutely wonderful and the only thing that bothers me is that I didn’t hear about it sooner!
