I have drawn several hundreds of portraits in my life, I think. When I really love someone’s work, I get inspired and like to draw their portrait. My best portraits are of people that really, truly inspired me. I think I have become a decent portraitist over the years, but there is still only one portrait that I feel is perfect. Only one portrait that I feel that is right in each and every way. It’s not easy being a perfectionist, eh?!
Here’s a selection of my favourite portraits. At the bottom are the first portraits I’ve ever drawn, when I was approximately 9 years old. Can you guess who they are meant to be?

And Your Portraits Are Wonderful! 😀
Thanks! And nice to hear it works for you that way, too! 🙂
Your work… wow! I look at this and think of how incredible humans are with such diverse ranges of skills and abilities. While your portraiture is spot on, astounding and mesmoringly realistic, I know we all have our own outlets too. Never stop doing this. Never.
Wow, thank you! I guess I better start drawing then 🙂 I had a look at your portrait photos, btw. There are some really lovely shots in there!
Thanks! 🙂
